Each "Dancing Monarch" butterfly is handcrafted by sculptor and artist Peter Hazel to reflect the butterflies installed on his “Dancing Monarch” sculpture in Plains, Georgia.
The “Dancing Monarch" sculpture was commissioned by friends of our former First Lady Rosalynn Smith Carter to honor her 95th birthday on August 18, 2022. The sculpture is installed in the Rosalynn Smith Carter Childhood Garden next to the home where she grew up as a child in Plains, Georgia.
Peter Hazel is world famous for his fantastical modern art sculptures installed at the annual Burning Man festivals in Northern Nevada, drawing over 50,000 people annually.
All proceeds benefit the Friends of Jimmy Carter.
